Arizona Regional Entertainer of the Year
National Entertainer of the Year pageantry has come a long way since its inception in 1985. It was created by George Stinson and Ed Lewis, owners of the successful Connection Complex in Louisville, Kentucky, who drew inspiration from the Female Impersonator of the Year pageant held in Houston, Texas. The late Naomi Sims (Newman Braud), the winner of the first-ever contest, is honored as Entertainer of the Year Emeritus. Today, National Entertainer of the Year is one of the Top 4 most prestigious pageant titles in the country and has two divisions: Entertainer of the Year F.I. and Mr. Entertainer of the Year. Both are held yearly.
The Arizona Entertainer of the Year Pageant has been in existence for over a decade and has been won by some of the most well-known male performers and female impersonators in the state. After a 5-year hiatus, the pageant is making a comeback and is set to continue its legacy of discovering the next Arizona Entertainer of the Year.
